Army Chief Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba lauds historical bush war hero Gen Jim Muhwezi

The Army Commander and first son General Muhoozi Kainerugaba has lauded retired army officer and former bush war hero Maj Gen. Jim Katugugu Muhwezi as a true NRA historical.

Posting on his Social Media platform X, the army Chief appreciated the now veteran politician for being a mentor and friend to many.

The wife of Gen Jim Muhwezi, Mrs Susan Muhwezi agreed totally with the army Chief and re-shared the message of her X account.

“My friend General Jim Muhwezi is a true NRA historical. I thank him for being a mentor and true friend of mine,” Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba posted.

Rtd Maj Gen Jim Muhwezi is currently the official NRM Flag Bearer for Rujumbura Constituency in Rukungiri District.

Airtel Uganda Pays UGX 50.3 billion Dividend to National Social Security Fund (NSSF)

Kampala : Airtel Uganda, a leading provider of telecommunications and mobile money services, on Friday presented a dividend cheque of UGX 50.3 billion to the National Social Security Fund (NSSF). This significant payout follows NSSF’s strategic acquisition of shares in Airtel Uganda during the company’s initial public offering (IPO). This payout follows Airtel’s 2023 decision to list in Uganda, becoming the second telecom company on the Uganda Securities Exchange. The company offered 8 billion ordinary shares representing 20% of its equity at UGX 100 per share. While the IPO raised UGX 211.4 billion, below the UGX 800 billion target, it attracted 4,614 new shareholders and marked a significant milestone in the company’s commitment to local ownership and capital market development.
