Victorious Anita Annet Among appreciates the support from Delegates, lauds Rebecca Kadaga for running excellent campaign

The Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Anita Annet Among was last evening declared winner of the NRM 2nd National Vice Chairperson after she overwhelmingly defeated her rival Rt. Hon. Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga. Speaking after the victory, Rt Hon. Among appreciated the NRM Delegates for the love and support throughout the campaign trail.

She went to express her gratitude to Rt. Hon. Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga for running an excellent campaign and for her contributions to the party. She also called for togetherness and mobilisation to ensure that NRM is victorious in next year’s General elections.

Below is her full statement after the victory;
“Dear delegates, I am truly grateful for your love and support, not just today but throughout the campaign trail. With deep humility, I accept this landslide victory.

I want to express my gratitude to our mother, Rt Hon Rebecca Kadaga, for running an excellent campaign and her significant contributions to the party and our country. We will rely on her for advice and guidance in the days ahead.

Let us return to work, mobilise for our Party leader and flag bearers, and ensure a resounding victory for the mighty NRM.

God bless you, and God bless our great NRM party,” Rt. Hon. Anita Annet Among said.

Airtel Uganda Pays UGX 50.3 billion Dividend to National Social Security Fund (NSSF)

Kampala : Airtel Uganda, a leading provider of telecommunications and mobile money services, on Friday presented a dividend cheque of UGX 50.3 billion to the National Social Security Fund (NSSF). This significant payout follows NSSF’s strategic acquisition of shares in Airtel Uganda during the company’s initial public offering (IPO). This payout follows Airtel’s 2023 decision to list in Uganda, becoming the second telecom company on the Uganda Securities Exchange. The company offered 8 billion ordinary shares representing 20% of its equity at UGX 100 per share. While the IPO raised UGX 211.4 billion, below the UGX 800 billion target, it attracted 4,614 new shareholders and marked a significant milestone in the company’s commitment to local ownership and capital market development.
