Over 35 countries to participate in 2025 Tusker Lite Rwenzori Marathon
With less than a week to go, Denmark has become the latest country to join the long list of participants for the Tusker Lite Rwenzori Marathon slated for next Saturday in Kasese.
The 2025 Tusker Lite Rwenzori Marathon has attracted participants from 35 countries, with Kenya by far the most well-represented. The list is still going up.
Some of the nations to be represented include: South Africa, Austria, Belgium, Cameroon, Canada, China, Congo (DRC), France, Germany, Hungary, India, Ireland, Japan, Lithuania, Namibia, Netherlands, Nigeria, Norway, Pakistan, Rwanda, Senegal, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Turkey, Uganda, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, Uruguay, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
The Tusker Lite Rwenzori Marathon is an initiative of Mr. Amos Masaba Wekesa, a businessman, entrepreneur and corporate executive in Uganda, who is the founder, proprietor and managing director of Great Lakes Safaris. He is a tourism promoter who has been described as the best thing to happen to Ugandan tourism sector.
The 2025 Tusker Lite Rwenzori Marathon is slated to take place on 23rd August 2025 in Kasese.
Many corporate companies and government entities have dashed to support the now buzzing annual Marathon. The companies so far include Uganda Communications Commission (UCC), NITA Uganda, Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda, Britam Uganda, The Motorcenter EA, Rwenzori Water, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Uganda and many others.
