Crème de la crème grace Gen. Jim & Susan Muhwezi’s daughter Giveaway ceremony

Over the weekend on Saturday, all road led to Rujumbura in Rukungiri District as Security Minister Gen. Jim Muhwezi and wife Susan Muhwezi were hosting friends and family at the Giveaway ceremony of their daughter Ms Sandra Kekirunga Muhwezi to her lover Josh.

The glamorous and colorful ceremony was graced by who is who in the political, business and showbiz circles.

The Chief Guest H.E President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni didn’t make it to the function but in a speech read for him by Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa, who represented him hailed Hon. Gen. Jim Muhwezi and wife Susan Muhwezi for sacrifices they have made to serve Uganda in different capacities. He called on the new couple to be honest and faithful to each other for their marriage to thrive.

Although the President didn’t attend, his members of the First Family including Natasha Karugire and her children as well her sister Patience Rwabwogo graced the colourful ceremony. In fact, Patience Rwabwogo led a powerful prayer at the event.

Amongst other VVIPs who attended are; The Commissioner General of Prison Mr Johnson Byabashaija, Hon. Bright Rwamirama. Gen. Don Nabaasa, Burundi Nyamuntwanisa, The Amb of Rwanda to Uganda, Amb. Ageti Otteskov, Amb. Anne Katusiime, Bob Kabonero, Richard Kabonero, Ben Kavuya, Hon. Sam Kutesa, Hon. Shartsi Kutesa Musherure, Former Attorney General Mr. William Byaruhanga, Kampala Rotarians, Board Members of Uganda Hotel Owners, Delegation from Hotel Africana, Fairway & Cephas Inn Owners among them, C. E. O Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) Ms Juliana Kagwa, UHOA Jean Byamugisha, President of UTA Yogi Birigwa, Permanent Secretary (PS ) Ministry of Tourism Ms Doreen S. Katusiime, PS Ministry of Local Government Mr. Ben Kumumanya , Hon. Sandra and Josh are set to walk down the aisle on Saturday 2nd August at Namirembe Cathedral and thereafter host their guests at Speke Resort Munyonyo to completely cement their marriage journey.

Airtel Uganda Pays UGX 50.3 billion Dividend to National Social Security Fund (NSSF)

Kampala : Airtel Uganda, a leading provider of telecommunications and mobile money services, on Friday presented a dividend cheque of UGX 50.3 billion to the National Social Security Fund (NSSF). This significant payout follows NSSF’s strategic acquisition of shares in Airtel Uganda during the company’s initial public offering (IPO). This payout follows Airtel’s 2023 decision to list in Uganda, becoming the second telecom company on the Uganda Securities Exchange. The company offered 8 billion ordinary shares representing 20% of its equity at UGX 100 per share. While the IPO raised UGX 211.4 billion, below the UGX 800 billion target, it attracted 4,614 new shareholders and marked a significant milestone in the company’s commitment to local ownership and capital market development.
