Nyamula Logistics: Bridging the Gap in African Cargo Transport with Technology

#40Days40FinTechs Zambia and Malawi Edition – Day 20

In Africa’s fast-growing trade ecosystem, small cargo owners and transporters often face the harshest challenges from limited access to finance and unreliable intermediaries to fragmented markets and poor infrastructure. These roadblocks make timely and affordable cargo transport a difficult feat for many small-scale traders.

Enter Nyamula Logistics, a Zambian technology-driven platform that is transforming how cargo moves across the region. Founded in 2018, Nyamula connects cargo owners directly with reliable small-scale truck operators, eliminating the need for time-consuming and costly agents.

“We built Nyamula to simplify logistics for small businesses and transporters alike,” says Euphemia Chikungulu, Software Engineer and Chief Technology Lead at Nyamula Logistics.

“Cargo owners can register, post their goods with details like weight, type, origin, and destination and available transporters on our platform can pick up those jobs based on their location and capacity.”

The solution offers users real-time tracking, faster delivery options, and dedicated support. Now, Nyamula is evolving further by integrating digital payments, allowing cargo owners and transporters to transact easily at any stage of the delivery process.

As the platform grows, it continues to face the common hurdles of many African FinTech start-ups access to funding, technical mentorship, and scaling support. However, through initiatives like #40Days40FinTechs, Nyamula hopes to gain the visibility and strategic partnerships needed to expand its impact across Zambia, Malawi, and beyond.

Nyamula featured on Day 20 of the 40 Days 40 FinTechs initiative Zambia and Malawi edition an initiative designed to spotlight transformative FinTech solutions advancing financial inclusion and inclusive trade across Africa. The initiative is powered by HiPipo, with support from the Level One Project, Mojaloop Foundation, and the Gates Foundation.
