Honourable Nambozo Florence chased like a Chicken Thief Over Mutufu Town Council Elections

In a dramatic turn of events, the recent elections in Mutufu Town Council have been spoilt by allegations of fraud and chaos, centring around Honourable Nambozo Florence.

Tensions escalated when it was discovered that Nambozo had allegedly secured her win through fraudulent means, with five extra votes unaccounted for in the voter register.

Outraged by the apparent electoral malpractice, the opposing team and supporters immediately protested the results. They headed to the NRM District Secretariat at the Sironko Town Council headquarters to file their grievances. In a bid to escape the furious crowd, Nambozo fled the scene in a panic, likened to a “chicken thief,” and unfortunately knocked down two individuals in her haste.

One victim was the daughter of Madam Rhoda, the first female LCIII Chairperson in Uganda’s government structures, and the other was the child of Mr. Manana, a prominent businessman in Mutufu Town Council.

Seeking refuge, Nambozo rushed to the NRM offices in Sironko Town Council, a place she had previously vowed never to enter due to its association with Mr. Lumolo, the builder of the facility and also the NRM District Chairman. Cornered and fearing for her safety, she sought protection inside the offices. The enraged crowd, accompanied by boda-boda riders, pursued her to the headquarters, demanding justice for the electoral fraud and the injuries caused.

Inside the NRM offices, the District Chairperson was called upon to address the situation. The NRM Administrator, Mr. Wambaka Wilson read out the NRM Election Guidelines 2025, citing Section 14(b)(3) to highlight the irregularities and the need for a fair resolution. Police and the military were summoned to prevent any violence, ensuring Nambozo’s safety while the community awaited a transparent investigation and resolution, the crowds were only able to calm down after their Chairman Mr Lumolo Mafabi had addressed them. Voting has been postponed to Tuesday 20th May 2025.
