Former RDC Hajjat Hanifah Karadi eyes Kawempe North MP seat

Former Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Hajjat Hanifah Karadi has set her eyes on Kawempe North MP seat.

She confirmed to this website that she is contesting to replace deceased Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya as the MP for Kawempe North constituency in Kampala. She wants to see effective and accountable leadership in the area.

Karadi who has been a resident of the area since her university days, says she knows the needs and problems of Kawempe North people and wants to solve them.

She has already hit the ground running with her team mobilizing for support.

Airtel Uganda Pays UGX 50.3 billion Dividend to National Social Security Fund (NSSF)

Kampala : Airtel Uganda, a leading provider of telecommunications and mobile money services, on Friday presented a dividend cheque of UGX 50.3 billion to the National Social Security Fund (NSSF). This significant payout follows NSSF’s strategic acquisition of shares in Airtel Uganda during the company’s initial public offering (IPO). This payout follows Airtel’s 2023 decision to list in Uganda, becoming the second telecom company on the Uganda Securities Exchange. The company offered 8 billion ordinary shares representing 20% of its equity at UGX 100 per share.
