Urban Refreshments shines at Corporate League

Last Sunday’s edition of the Corporate League carried with it a number of surprises.

When teams like Post Bank, renowned catering company Urban Refreshments, Equity Bank, UCDA, Adris Digital Africa among others, locked horns, many expected the usual results.

Urban Refreshments went into all of the football games as an underdog, as they were new to the Corporate League and many assumed their team lacked the tenacity.

To their surprise, Urban Refreshments cruised through most of the games with such confidence. Even when they lost some and drew some, it was the way their team members kept on winning the Man Of The Match awards that stood out to the spectators.

During their game against Marketing Communications Giants Adris Digital Africa, it looked obvious that they would loose. And yet they held the giants to a hard fought goalless draw. They were hailed for being the most entertaining team of the outing that happened at Makerere University Grounds last Sunday.


While speaking to the press on that day, the Team Manager of Urban Refreshments, Cathy Nakisige said that the display was a result of working and training together for a long time.

“We value team work at Urban Refreshments. Whether it is at our outside catering functions, or at our Restaurant in Kyaliwajjala, every member of the team is taught about team work. But I also would like to thank them for putting on a good show. It is good to have fans, because that is how you network, through turning them into friends in business,” explained Nakisige.

Another surprise for the day was when the Corporate League management paraded the car that will be won by the MVP of the year, a Subaru Legacy.
